How to let Bedrock players join your server

Friends on Bedrock can play on your Java server. They only need the right address.

Which devices can join

Bedrock players on phones, tablets and Windows can join. Consoles cannot add servers yet, so console players cannot join this way.

Which servers it works on

Paper, Purpur, Folia and Leaf servers on Minecraft 1.19 or newer. Bedrock players come in through Kixa, so there is nothing to install. Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and vanilla servers cannot take Bedrock players.

Join from Bedrock

  1. Open Minecraft Bedrock and go to Servers.
  2. Add a server. Use yourserver.kixa.host to go straight to your server, or bedrock.kixa.host to reach the Kixa lobby. The port is 19132.
  3. Join it.

With your own domain

A domain set up with a CNAME record works for Bedrock too: players add play.yourname.com with port 19132 and go straight to your server.

Bedrock cannot read SRV records. If your whole domain only has an SRV record, add a CNAME on the root as well (Cloudflare allows it, set to DNS only), or use a subdomain like play.yourname.com.

If you only want Java players

You can turn Bedrock players off in your server's Settings, under Who can join.

Common questions

Do Bedrock players need a different world?
No. Java and Bedrock players join the same server and play in the same world.
How do I whitelist a Bedrock player?
Add their name with a dot in front, like .Steve123. That is how Bedrock names show on the server.
Can my friend on a console join?
Not yet. Consoles cannot add servers, so they cannot reach a Kixa server.
