How to change your server icon and MOTD

Your icon and MOTD are the first things players see. Make them count.

Change the icon

  1. Open Settings in your server panel. Your own icon needs the Standard plan or higher.
  2. Press Upload icon and choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 5 MB.
  3. Kixa resizes it to the 64 by 64 size Minecraft uses and tells you when it did.
  4. Restart your server to show it.

Write your MOTD

The MOTD is the message under your server's name in the multiplayer list. Change it in Settings.

Add colour with & codes. For example, &a makes text green and &l makes it bold.

Common questions

My new icon isn't showing
Restart the server. Minecraft can also keep the old icon for a while, so refresh the server list.
