How to install a modpack

Pick a Fabric modpack from Modrinth and Kixa sets it up for you.

Before you start

Modpacks work on Fabric servers. If your server runs Paper or Purpur, change the software to Fabric first.

The modpack has to support your server's Minecraft version.

Install it

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Open Mods in your server panel and go to Modpacks.
  3. Search for a modpack and choose Install modpack.
  4. Start your server when it is done.

Players need the modpack too

Most modpacks change the game, so players need the same modpack in their own launcher to join.

Common questions

Can I add a modpack to a Paper server?
No. Modpacks need Fabric. You can switch the server to Fabric under Change version.
Why is Install modpack greyed out?
Stop the server first. A modpack replaces files the running server has open.
