Host a server without port forwarding

When the server runs on Kixa instead of your PC, there is nothing to open on your router.

Why you don't need it

Port forwarding is only needed when the server runs on your own computer. A Kixa server runs on Kixa, so your router, firewall and PC are not involved, and friends can join while your computer is off.

How friends join

On Java, friends add your address, name.kixa.host, as a server. They can also join play.kixa.host and pick your server in the compass server selector once Lobby listing is on in Settings.

On Bedrock (phones, tablets and Windows), friends add bedrock.kixa.host to reach the lobby, or yourserver.kixa.host to go straight to your server.

Move your world over

Already have a world on your PC? Zip the world folder and upload it in World tools. Kixa takes a safety backup of the current world first.

Common questions

Is it free?
Yes. The free plan costs €0 and needs no card. It sleeps when nobody is online and wakes from the lobby.
